As school went on, the excitement of highschool faded. The sports teams brought to everyone a new sense of companionship. Kaleb and Josh became much closer and eventually started to play guitar together. Kaleb had always been interested in music, though his tastes in music fluctuated like the sands of a desert, music was always a way to listen to his own thoughts. In the near future, Kaleb would eventually lead his church in worship and become a lead worshipper.
Church had always been a part of their lives. Shawn and Lydia were already leaders, following the footsteps of their older brothers. And Josh would soon follow. Homecoming had passed and Kaleb had gone with one of his friends, May, whom at the time, he adored. But Kaleb soon found himself becoming attracted to Lydia. They had begun talking online in the summer, and had become quite close in a short amount of time. Shawn was also close to Lydia, and he had liked her for a couple months. Luckily there was no rivalry between Kaleb and Shawn, Kaleb had made it a priority to keep this secret from Shawn until at least Shawn was over her.
That winter Shawn and Lydia attended the winterball at Lydia’s highschool. They had a good time talking and dancing but just as friends. Soon after at a rehearsal for the annual church Christmas presentation, Shawn and Kaleb were sitting on the pews and Shawn told Kaleb that he no longer had feelings for Lydia. For Kaleb, this was a huge relief. He no longer felt like there was something he was hiding from Shawn and was relieved of this huge burden.
“Yes!” exclaimed Shawn.
